1) Scope & Law

We are based in British Columbia and handle personal information in accordance with BC’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). This Policy applies to the Site and to our recruiting and client-service activities that link to it.

2) What We Collect

Information you provide. Contact details (name, email, phone, company, role/title), messages/forms and attachments, candidate information (CV/résumé, LinkedIn profile, work history, skills, job preferences, location, compensation expectations, work eligibility).
Automatically collected. Device and usage data (IP address, device/OS, browser, pages viewed, time on page, referring URLs) and cookies/pixels (see §9).
From third parties. Public sources (e.g., LinkedIn, job boards), referrals, and—if authorized—references/background providers.
We limit collection to what is reasonable for recruiting, client service, and site operation.

3) How We Use Information (Purposes)

  • Recruiting & client services: respond to inquiries; evaluate, shortlist, and present candidates; schedule interviews; obtain client feedback; manage placements; and communicate with clients/candidates.
  • Operations & security: operate/improve the Site and our services; diagnostics; fraud/security monitoring; record-keeping; invoicing; auditing; and legal compliance.
  • Marketing (limited): updates or invitations. We follow Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and include an unsubscribe in each message.
We only use personal information for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances.

4) Consent

We collect, use, and disclose personal information with your consent, or as otherwise permitted by PIPA. Consent may be express or implied depending on context. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal/contractual limits and reasonable notice; withdrawing consent may limit our ability to provide certain services.

5) Sharing & Disclosures

We do not sell personal information. We may share it with:

  • Service providers (hosting, email, ATS, cloud storage, analytics) under contractual duties of confidentiality and appropriate safeguards.
  • Clients (in recruiting engagements) when you apply to a role or consent to be presented.
  • Professional advisors (legal/accounting) under confidentiality.
  • Authorities where required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property.
  • Business transfers (merger, acquisition, asset sale) under protections consistent with this Policy.

6) Cross-Border Processing (PIPA notice)

Your information may be stored or accessed outside BC by our service providers. Foreign laws may permit access by authorities. To ask about our service providers, their locations, or how to access written information about our policies and practices, contact admin@objectiverecruiting.ca.

7) Candidate Transparency

  • Sources. From you, public professional profiles, referrals, and—if authorized—references/background providers.
  • Presentation to clients. Only for roles you apply to or explicitly consent to be considered for.
  • Talent pool. With your consent, we may retain your CV and notes for at least 48 months from last interaction to consider you for future roles. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Reference & background checks. Conducted only with your prior authorization and limited to role relevance.

8) Retention

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above and to meet legal requirements, then securely delete or de-identify it. Typical periods:

  • All candidate information (including applications, recommendations, notes, and communications): retained at least four (4) years from the most recent interaction or recommendation to a client.
  • Client/contract & invoice data: 7 years (tax/audit).
  • Security logs: up to 12 months.
  • Web analytics: typically up to 14 months (per tool configuration).

9) Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate this Site, understand usage patterns, and improve performance.

You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.

Analytics cookies collect aggregated usage data such as page views, time on site, and referral sources. These insights help us maintain and improve our services. Analytics data is retained for a limited period consistent with business and legal requirements.

We will not use non-essential cookies for purposes a reasonable person would not expect, and this section will be updated if we introduce new tools or technologies that change how tracking information is collected or used.

10) Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information (least-privilege access, encryption in transit where feasible, secured storage, and staff awareness). No system is perfectly secure.

11) Your Rights (Access, Correction, Contact)

Under PIPA you may request access to your personal information, information about our use/disclosure, and correction of inaccuracies.

  • How to submit: email admin@objectiverecruiting.ca with enough detail to identify the records.

Our Site/services are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child provided information, contact us to request deletion.

13) Third-Party Links

Third-party sites are governed by their own privacy policies. Review those before providing information.

14) Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Effective” date reflects the latest version. We will post changes to this page; material changes will be highlighted.
